WELL BORE VIDEO LOGGING:
After drilling it is time to evaluate the well. We provide this service to others as well as our own clients and projects. Commonwealth Energy Group, has recently developed a down-hole camera system that has many features to help determine not only where oil/gas is entering a well, but also to inspect casing and other down-hole points to troubleshoot a problem. This camera is equipped with the following on-board features:
24 infrared LEDs for night vision, an ultraviolet light to see the fluorescent glow of oil in the well bore, a gas detection circuit to alert the technician when the camera passes into a zone where gas is present, and a directional low wattage halogen light to transfer from night vision to full color composite output, even at depths to over 2,000 feet below the surface.
Besides a quality camera system, We at Commonwealth Energy Group rely on Electric logging tools which tell various things about the down hole formations the well passed through when drilled. Depending on the circumstances we will use geophysical testing methods such as Induction, Sonic, Gamma Ray, Neutron, and Density testing.
The combination of tests and methodology help to properly and accurately (as possible) evaluate a well so our geologist and those trained in petroleum can decide to either deem the well NON-economical, plug the well according to State regulations and go on, OR treat, complete, equip the well, and put into production. Sometimes, it is not an easy decision!
